My Mascus goes live – a new way of doing business

London, 26 April 2010, Mascus, one of the biggest names in the world for the sale of used construction machinery, farm machinery, material-handling equipment and forestry, has launched a new service to make business easier for users of its online platform.

‘My Mascus’ gives users of one of the most successful buying and selling platforms for heavy used machinery a host of new features, including the ability to bookmark their favourite machines, compare machines on offer and save those they like. Customers can also post ’want’ ads and receive email alerts when a specific item on their wish list becomes available. ”My Mascus is purely designed to make life easier for our customers,” explains Fredrik Larsson, Managing Director of Mascus. “By being able to bookmark favourites, compare prices online and even put up want ads, we’re also encouraging our visitors to return to the site again and again. It’s a natural development of the site, and one that we believe our customers will really appreciate,” he adds.

Good for customers, good for business

With over one million unique users visiting the site every month, Mascus believes that the development of My Mascus is also a logical step. “By producing a site that offers advanced functionality, we believe that it will also give us better customer retention,” explains Rickard Petersson, Sales Director for Mascus. “We have an international presence across 42 domains and in 35 languages, so a facility that draws all the strands of the business together and makes it easier for customers to navigate is hopefully going to encourage them to come back to us more than once,” he adds.

Buyers can contact sellers direct to make an offer or even request information on any similar machinery they may have. The new ”Compare tool function” allows users to compare used equipment including used farm machinery, used trucks, trailers and used tractors for sale on the site.

This makes the ’My Mascus’ log-on page easy to navigate, saving time and money. There is a range of special options that are available when customers sign up to My Mascus including:

  • Faster searching, comparing equipment and sending contact requests without re-entering contact data.
  • The ability to place 'Want ads' free and receive notification when used equipment that matches the users’ requirements becomes available.
  • Reach buyers and sellers around the world on the largest used machine 'forecourt' on the market.

Mascus is convinced that the new function will give users a quality browsing experience, and will also promote international trade. “My Mascus gives our customers a site that is easy to use and full of features that are relevant to them, particularly features such as the ability to place want ads, bookmarking favourites and it takes all the hassle out of buying and selling used heavy machinery,or trucks” says Fredrik Larsson. “We have an ethos of providing the best online platform for all of our customers, regardless of location, and My Mascus is the next generation in online buying and selling platforms. We believe it will set the benchmark by which all other sites are judged,” he concludes.
