With more than 65 telehandler models, Merlo is the third largest heavy duty manufacturer in Europe. It also holds many patents and market changing innovations. Merlo brings
Merlo telehandlers to the UK and Republic of Ireland from its home-base in Ringwood, Hampshire. Started in 1912, it wasn’t until the 1920s and 1930s that Merlo broke in to sub-fabrication for local paper and concrete producers. Through to 1970 the company added larger, heavy duty equipment such as self loading mixers and dumpers. It was in 1982 that Merlo engineered its first telescopic handler and it was then that a legacy was born.

The Panoramic Compact series was mainly manufactured to support demands for a narrow and low machine, focusing in large part on construction and farming sectors. The power comes from a Perkins 74.5 kW Euro III turbo diesel. A new chassis design ensures a 2000mm width with an overall height of 2150mm or a lower profile model of only 2000mm. The P32.6 telehandler offers a four 6m lift with a two section boom while the P28.8 models offer a four 8m class giving lifts ranging from 6.40m or 8.2m. This model being the only compact
telehandler manufactured to offer this height. Boom suspension is available on all models.
The Turbofarmer was designed with all UK farmers in mind. 16 different models offer varying lifting capacities of 3.4 tonnes to 4.1 tonnes with lift heights ranging between 7m and 9.7m. These models are 2m wide and below 2m high. Eight models can be purchased with a lift height of 6m to 8.2m. A Deutz turbo engine with 102hp or 140hp is available.
“Load-Sensing” hydraulic systems are given to create a better efficiency and speed on top model orders. This technology is newly added for the first time on the Panoramic Compact series.
