What Are Combine Harvesters & What Are They Used For:

Combine harvesters are machines used in agriculture to harvest grain crops. The complexity of the Farm King used combine harvesters derives from the combination of three operations, which are reaping, thrashing and winnowing. The removable head of the combine makes harvesting various types of crops possible, which include wheat, oats, corn and barley. The head of the combine also gives the machines different functions such as hillside levelling, which allows the combine to harvest the fertile soil in very steep regions. Side-hill levelling is another function of the combine, which allows the machine to level to the ground and make the thrashing process more effective. There are different designs of combine harvesters, each operating with a different technology. The conventional design uses a rotating cylinder at the front-end. This element enables the seed selection, whilst the rest of the machine separates the straws from the grain. The rotary combine operates through a centrifugal technology to enable grain selection. It allows faster harvesting and a milder conduct of the fragile seeds, which were often crashed by the speed of the rotating cylinder.
